Most of our tour itineraries & packages are private as we aim to clear the ground for purely-cultural experiences while maintaining the delivery of personal service. However, we may take shared bookings on some occasions when the group (maximum 8) is already set. The featured price can change based on the number of passengers.
Sightseeing Tour around Marrakech
After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, your private tour guide will take for a guided tour of Marrakech. The day is filled with explorations & new encounters. You’ll begin with the sightseeing tour of the Ville Nouvelle that was built by the French when Morocco was a French Protectorate from 1912 to 1956. You’ll drive through the Gueliz District with its modern buildings consisting of mainly travel agencies & rental cars offices, fancy shops & multinational restaurants.
You’ll visit the botanical gardens of Majorelle. This beautiful gardens consist of a wide collection of gardens & plants that were gathered together by Majorelle by Saint Laurent transformed it into a little paradise. It’s possible to include a visit to the Saint Laurent Museum.
After that, you’ll head to La Koutoubia Mosque, which is the landmark of Marrakech. This Almohad masterpiece of architecture was built in the 12th century. It was used as a model for constructing other minarets such Hassan Tower in Rabat; Giralda Church in Seville and many others.
Marrakech Medina Walking Tour
Now, it’s time to get into the walls of the Medina. You’ll have through the beautiful Bab (Gate) Agnaw to the Saadian Tombs. These tombs go back to the 15th century, you’ll be amazed by the immense beauty of the geometric designs that reflect the rich Moroccan-Andalusian Architectures. Meander around the alleyways through the Mellah (former Jewish Quarter) to the 19 century Bahia Palace. This spacious palace was built Ba Ahmed (the Vizier of the late Sultan Hassan II), his wives & concubines resided here consisting of Riads & specious rooms. The French General Lyautey used as a main residence during the Protectorate.
You’ll get into the vibrant life of the Medina, with the bustling Souks that are divided into sections according to specialty. The Souks of Marrakech are the largest in the Arab World. You’ll end up your full-day guided tour of Marrakech in the Jemaa El-Fna Square. This square turns into a carnival in the evening filled with acrobats, musicians, storytellers, snake charmers, magicians, fortune-tellers & food-stalls selling Moroccan delicious dishes.
Tip: In the evening, you may want to spend some time watching the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square atop one of the cafes or restaurants overlooking the square such Cafe de France…
