We put at your service this meticulously designed and private Asni & Imlil Day Trip from Marrakech to allow you to escape the hectic Marrakech with its vibrant and hassling lifestyle. The High Atlas can be easily seen from Marrakech with its snow-capped mountains of the year standing like a high wall dividing Morocco into two worlds. The Atlas Mountains are known for their unique fauna and flora, and varied landscapes, and are resided by Berbers (indigenous people of North Africa). It’s here you’ll sample the deep-seated cultural heritage that has been carefully passed on from one generation to another.

Itinerary
Most of our tour itineraries & packages are private as we aim to clear the ground for purely cultural experiences while maintaining the delivery of personal service. However, we may take shared bookings on some occasions when the group (maximum 8) is already set. The featured price can change based on the number of passengers & the category of the desert camp.
Day 1 – Marrakech – Tahanaouet – Asni – Imlil – Lalla Takerkoust – Marrakech
Early pick up from your hotel/Riad, then head south to the High Atlas Mountains that can be easily seen from Marrakech’s city center. You’ll drive through the Tahanouet city center, which is the main administrative center for most Berbers residing in the mountains to do the needed paperwork. It’s known for the weekly traditional Souk (market) that takes place every Tuesday. You may want (optional) to include a short break by a local women’s Argan Cooperative to form an idea of how Argan oil is being extracted from the seeds.
You’ll then drive through the Moulay Ibrahim Gorge with its dramatic landscapes, then through Asni, which is known for the weekly traditional Souk (market) that takes place every Saturday. On this day, Berbers from the nearby mountains bring goats, sheep, chickens, herbs, organic vegetables… etc. to sell and, in return, they purchase items like sugar, tea leaves, plastics, clothes, electronics…etc for the week.
After Asni, you’ll divert right taking a narrow paved road to Imlil Village with the possibility to include a stop in the beautiful Kasbah of Richard Bronson’s Moroccan retreat (Kasbah Tamadot). When you arrive in Imlil, you’ll have a hike through Berber Village stopping by a local Berber family. The views from here are just stunning, you’ll learn how to make Moroccan tea, then followed by a nice lunch.
Continue on the track through the villages with their unique lifestyle, warmth, and hospitality. You’ll arrive at the famous Toubkal Kasbah that overlooks the Toubkal Mountain peak, then walk back through Imlil Village before driving through Moulay Ibrahim, Lalla Takerkoust reservoir back to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
We’ll make sure to drop you off at your chosen accommodation or arrange with the staff members of your Riad to come escort you if you are staying within the old walls of Marrakech’s Medina.
